The Lerner Center would like to extend its deep appreciation to Rebecca Bostwick. For the past seven years Rebecca has directed the Center’s operations and initiatives. She has convened and facilitated campus and community partnerships to help the Center realize its mission of improving the health of the community. An alumna of the Maxwell School’s Master of Public Administration program, Rebecca embodies engaged citizenship through her work at the Lerner Center and her community service.
In her time with the Center, Rebecca supported the growth of the Healthy Monday Syracuse initiative and developed the Center’s community health portfolio, which included securing external funding to address neighborhood health in Syracuse’s Near West Side. Rebecca has also served as a mentor to 22 Lerner Fellows who have gone on to contribute to the health and health care of our community.
With energy and enthusiasm for her work, Rebecca’s professional accolades are many and in addition she’s an all-around great colleague! Quick-witted and quick to laugh, Rebecca’s philosophy has always been to take the work seriously but never take herself too seriously. Rebecca is genuine and compassionate and has created a working environment at the Lerner Center that supports inclusion and creativity.
Today, we say goodbye to Rebecca as she moves on to her next adventure as an independent consultant in community health and development. We will miss her but we are so excited for the tremendous work we know she’ll do and deeply grateful for everything she has done for the Lerner Center.
